When you are thinking of public photography, the best option is to either go for a very big camera or a very small one. When you use a very big camera like the one that is equipped with a tripod, people will not be threatened by your actions. Because you have a tripod, you need to stay in one place and take your shots from there. When using a very small camera the size of Panasonic LX3, it would barely be noticeable. But before you move on to shooting, remember that you need to accomplish the needed permits.
